IMPORTANT INFORMATION
SKIRTS
Skirts must be knee length and age-appropriate.
P.E KIT
It is essential that every child has a complete change of clothing for P.E. to enable freedom of movement and to minimise the risk of catching a cold. Although the P.E. kit of shorts and T-shirt is adequate during the summer months, the school sweatshirt and green jogging bottoms with elasticated ankles must be worn in the winter.
HAIR
Hairstyles should be neat and tidy with hair longer than collar length tied back throughout the school day. Hairstyles must be age appropriate and suitable for the primary school setting. This applies to both boys and girls. The school does not permit children to have ‘extreme’ haircuts including ‘tramlines’ or patterns cut into the hair. Dyed or tinted hair is not allowed; the use of gel or similar hair products is not allowed.
HAIR ORNAMENTS
All hair clips, beads, bows, slides and bands must be school colours - green, white, yellow or navy.
JEWELLERY
Only small plain gold or silver studs are permitted. We only allow one earring per ear. No other colour earrings should be worn. Hoop or drop ear rings are not permitted for safety reasons. Children may wear a crucifix but this must not be worn on PE days. No other jewellery is permitted.
WATCHES
Analogue watches may be worn at school, but must be removed before P.E. lessons (please note that the school will not take any responsibility for watches that are lost). Digital or SMART watches are not allowed
MAKE UP
We do not allow any make up to be worn at school. Nail polish should not be worn on fingers or toes.
BAGS
Children in the Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 should be provided with the school Book Bag which is available from the school. From Year 3, children will need to purchase the green school rucksack which is available from the school.
FOOTWEAR
All pupils must wear black shoes. Shoes with sports logos on them are considered “trainers”. These shoes are not permitted for school wear. However in Key Stage 2 “trainers are permitted for P.E. only as they provide greater support for feet and ankles.
LABELLING
Please ensure that ALL clothing is clearly marked with your child’s name as the school accepts no responsibility for loss or damage.
MOBILE PHONES
The use of mobile phones in school is no permitted. Should a child be found to have a phone on them it will be confiscated immediately and given to the Headteacher. Parents will be informed and asked to personally collect the item at the end of the day. (The school accepts no responsibility for loss or damage). Y6 children who walk to school alone may bring a phone for safety, however these must not be taken out in school.
SUN PROTECTION
As the school cannot accept responsibility for protecting children against the sun, parents are advised to take adequate precautions. On hot and sunny days, it is recommended that parents apply sun protection cream/lotion to their children before school. Sun protection cream/lotion may be stored in school for children to re-apply at lunchtime if necessary. Creams/lotions must be clearly labelled with your child’s name and class.
WINTER/SUMMER HATS
In winter, navy blue or black hats, scarves and gloves may be worn. These must be plain and not have any designs or logos on them. Navy hats and scarves can be bought from the school.
In summer, navy or green summer hats may be worn. These must also be plain. Summer hats are available to buy from the school.
